This fully funded group is for adults living in the North East who are living with chronic illness and/or hidden disabilities.
Many people find they are the experts in their own bodies, yet still don’t always feel taken seriously or fully believed by professionals or those around them. This can leave us feeling lost, exhausted and alone in our experiences, and it can become difficult to find the energy to keep advocating, researching and seeking support.
Using Art Psychotherapy, this group aims to gently support and explore the ways we live with and manage a chronic health condition. The focus is on nurturing self-awareness, supporting emotional regulation, building resilience, and creating a sense of shared lived experience.
Details:
Weekly from Tuesday 16th June to Tuesday 21st July, 1:00–2:30pm.
The group will be facilitated by Nicole Lenihan, a trauma-informed Art Psychotherapist living with multiple chronic illnesses.
To be considered, you will need to provide proof of UK nationality (National Insurance number) and North East residency (postcode).
All materials will be provided. You will need access to a private space, a stable internet connection, and a camera and microphone.
If offered a place, you will be invited to a short telephone conversation beforehand to help ensure the group feels right for you.
