Exploring your inner world with curiosity and compassion.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) offers a safe and reflective way to explore the different “parts” of yourself — the ones that protect, manage, or carry pain. It helps you understand how these parts interact and how to connect with your core Self, the calm and compassionate centre that can bring healing and balance.
Through guided reflection, visualisation, and dialogue, you and your therapist work together to understand your inner patterns and build trust between your parts. This process encourages insight, emotional regulation, and self-compassion.
IFS can also blend naturally with Art Psychotherapy, using creative expression to help parts communicate and express what feels difficult to put into words. The combination can offer deeper access to feelings and experiences, supporting integration and healing.
IFS is used in many areas of mental health and wellbeing, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. It can help reduce inner conflict, develop self-understanding, and support lasting emotional change.
Who is it for?
Adults, children and young people. No previous therapy experience is needed — the focus is on curiosity, not performance.
Available
Online and in person
What happens in a session?
Sessions last around 60 minutes. You’ll be guided to explore your inner experience through gentle conversation, visualisation, or creative reflection. For children and young people, imagery or drawing can help parts feel seen and understood.
How could it help?
IFS can help you make sense of your internal world, ease emotional distress, and strengthen your connection with your authentic Self — the part of you that feels grounded, confident, and whole.
