Phases Psychotherapy was created from the understanding that people shouldn’t have to mould themselves to fit into systems that weren’t built with their whole stories in mind.
Too often, care is shaped around timelines, diagnoses, or outcome measures when what’s really needed is space, flexibility, and presence.
Phases offers something different: a therapy practice that adapts to the person, not the other way around.
The approach does not assume people need to be ‘fixed’, they are not broken.
It is about creating a relationship where something can shift: internally, emotionally, or relationally. Sometimes that shift is subtle; other times it’s transformative.
Some clients come in crisis. Others come with questions, or the need to pause and reflect. Some stay for a short time, others longer. There’s no pressure to move quickly or reach a specific outcome.
What stays consistent is the care provided, and the respect for each person’s process.
What this means in practice
In sessions, this might mean slowing down to match your pace, using creative methods when words are hard, or taking time to notice what feels safe. It always means working collaboratively, with curiosity and care.
